IDEC Members Join Governor's Trade Mission to Mexico

Several members of the Idaho District Export Council (IDEC) and “Study Idaho” accompanied Governor Brad Little on a trade mission to  Mexico City on November 13 – 17, 2023.  IDEC attendees included:

The Mission facilitated meetings between Idaho business, education, and government leaders and their Mexican counterparts.  Kate Everett of the College Idaho joined fellow “Study Idaho” members Tracy Day and Rachel Pusch in exploring educational opportunities between the two countries. “Study Idaho participated in the Governor’s Mission and it was a successful event for us,” said Tracy Day of Boise State. “We made a lot of new connections.”

Attendees enjoyed pre-qualified appointments with potential customers and key government officials within their industry sectors. Activities included a reception in Mexico City with important industry and government representatives, plus an opportunity to recognize current customers with a Valued Partner Award.

Mexico is Idaho’s second-largest market for food and agriculture and the sixth-largest export market. Mexico is also one of the most important economic centers in Latin America.

Governor Little and his staff paved the way for a thoroughly enjoyable and fruitful visit to Mexico for myself, my fellow IDEC members and all of the other Idaho organizations that joined the Trade Mission. Travelling with the Governor opens many doors and opportunities that would be difficult to accomplish on our own.
