The Idaho District Export Council recently unveiled its 2023-2024 Sponsorship Program and is seeking sponsors who are interested in connecting with the Idaho export community. The IDEC is a volunteer organization comprising professionals from Idaho industries and service providers with extensive knowledge of international business. IDEC members offer valuable advice to help other Idaho companies compete and succeed in the global marketplace.

Becoming an IDEC sponsor offers your company a great opportunity to showcase your products, events, and messages to Idaho’s export community through IDEC events, workshops, and social media posts. During the past year, the IDEC has welcomed new and enthusiastic members who are hosting several additional events in 2023 and a full schedule of events in 2024. As a sponsor of the DEC, you will connect with Idaho’s top exporters and export service organizations.

The DEC regularly sends email updates about news and events to hundreds of Idaho exporters. We post to social media three times per week to our followers and see those communications reposted by IDEC members.  As we continue to promote and facilitate trade opportunities for Idaho’s incredible products worldwide, we seek dedicated sponsors to join our journey.

In existence for over thirty years, the IDEC continues to strive to expand its programs and offerings to the Idaho business community.  The IDEC works closely with the Boise Export Assistance Center of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Service to accomplish its mission through:

• Counseling, educating, and mentoring local businesses;
• Identifying sources of trade and project finance;
• Identifying key issues affecting U.S. and Idaho industry competitiveness in the global marketplace;
• Multiplying the efforts of the Boise Export Assistance Center.

We offer numerous events for Idaho exporters throughout the year.  In 2023, the IDEC has already hosted two seminars and a roundtable. And there are more that will give sponsors networking opportunities and marketing exposure. 

In 2023, the IDEC created a cohort of 12 companies that various export professionals are coaching to overcome international challenges and find new markets.

The IDEC offers assistance to exporters through arranging legislative meetings and roundtables with the Idaho Congressional delegation. In these sessions, participating export companies share how export policies impact their businesses. The primary benefit of these gatherings is to increase the visibility of exporters and our issues. 

With the support of the U.S. Commercial Service, the IDEC often hosts Idaho trade representatives and commercial officers from foreign countries and embassies. This is a great resource for companies expanding their exports.

All IDEC events are advertised via the U.S. Commerce database of Idaho companies, the Idaho Department of Commerce and often Idaho State Department of Agriculture databases.  Furthermore, IDEC promotes the events and sponsors on social media accounts to provide additional and more far-reaching coverage. Thousands of companies are reached through these efforts.

In order to meet our mission and provide services in our community, we rely on the generosity of businesses like yours for support. Without the assistance of community-minded individuals just like you, we wouldn’t be able to serve Idaho exporters each year.
